Kalix Langenau Memorial Scholarship

2024 Winner - Alexis Blumhagen

For those who didn’t know him, Kalix was a coach and a mentor in the community and he was a proud Cavalier – having graduated from W. H. Croxford in 2018.  Kalix played on the football and volleyball teams during his time as a Cavalier and worked hard to become the athlete he was.

In the early days of the Legacy we sat with the board members and brainstormed all the ways we would eventually like to honor Kalix’s memory and the idea for the scholarship was planted.   This year, through amazing community and board member support we are so proud to announce the First Annual Kalix Langenau Memorial Scholarship.  This scholarship recognizes a grade 12 athlete who exhibits outstanding character, leadership, be a total team player who demonstrates the highest level of sportsmanship – basically being the heart and hustle for their team, and an inspiration for fellow students.

It is our honor to present the First Annual Kalix Langenau Memorial Scholarship to Alexis Blumhagen.  Lexi was nominated by Mr. Jon Goldie who wanted to recognize her high standard of athleticism, leadership and achievements in the classroom as well as on the basketball court.

The Kalix Legacy Foundation of Airdrie is pleased to announce the creation of the Kalix Langenau Memorial Scholarship.
